Speedtouch 121g - Windows Vista installation guide
Aim of this article:
This article provides instructions for installing the Speedtouch 121g device drivers for wireless access.
A device driver is a program that controls a particular device that is attached to your PC. In this case the device is the Speedtouch 121g wireless adaptor.
Installation:
Begin by plugging the Speedtouch 121g USB wireless adaptor to a USB socket on your PC. Ideally you should use the USB extension lead provided in an elevated position, in order to receive the optimum signal.
Once the USB adaptor is plugged in Windows Vista will begin the installation of the device drivers.
Click Locate and install driver software (recommended).
You will then be presented with one of the following prompts:
You will be presented with the window above if your account is not configured as an Administrator. You must enter an Administrator password to continue. If your account does not contain the correct permissions to complete the task, please contact your System Administrator (Please Note: This is not Zen Internet).
You will be presented with the prompt as shown above if you are using an Administrator account to make changes to Windows Vista settings. The prompt is presented when an administrator attempts to perform a task that requires the user's full administrative privileges.
To continue with the action, click Continue.
You will then be presented with the following window:
Insert the installation disk provided with your Speedtouch 121g USB adaptor. Windows Vista will automatically begin to locate the driver information on the installation CD and install the drivers. Do not click Next.
If you do not have the CD, see Related Links to download the drivers from the Speedtouch site.
Click Install this driver software anyway.
When the device drivers have been installed successfully, you will be presented with the window as shown above.
Click Close to finalise the installation.
A notification bubble will then appear in the notification area, in the bottom right hand corner, verifying the installation. Your Speedtouch 121g wireless adaptor is now ready to use.
