SpeedTouch 121g - Wireless Adapter Setup

Aim of this article:

This article shows how to install and configure the SpeedTouch 121g for wireless access.

Installation

Before connecting the SpeedTouch 121g to your PC via the USB port you will first need to install the Windows drivers.

Place the set-up CD into your CD drive.

Click OK to choose English language.

Click on Install my SpeedTouch 121g.

Click Next.

Please read the Safety instructions and Regulatory Notices.  Once you have read these scroll down to the bottom and click the checkbox by "I have read and fully understood...", then click Next.

Click Next.

Click "Setup my SpeedTouch" to install the software.

Allow the installation to complete.

Following the instructions you may now plug the wireless adapter into your USB port.

Software installation is now complete.  After clicking Finish your PC will reboot.

In order to use the standard Windows wireless software a particular Windows service must be running.
To confirm this is running go to: Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services

Scroll down to find "Wireless Zero Configuration" service (services are typically listed alphabetically). Click to highlight then click Start to run the service.

Close the Services screen.

Click: Start > Control Panel > Network Connections and double-click Wireless Network Connection.

You should see your wireless access point in the network list, if you do not click Refresh network list.

Select your wireless network and click "Connect".

If your wireless network is security encrypted enter your network key or passphrase here and click "Connect".

After a few moments you should be connected to your access point.
