Zen Broadband - Viewing usage
Aim of this article:
This article provides instructions for accessing ADSL usage information for Zen's ADSL services via the Customer Portal at http://portal.zen.co.uk/.
Customers wishing to buy additional download capacity for Zen Broadband services with usage allowances can find instructions for doing so in the Related Article "Zen Broadband - Buying additional capacity" linked to at the bottom of this page.
Accessing the Zen Portal
To access the Customer Portal browse to:
https://portal.zen.co.uk
If you have previously registered for a portal account, enter your e-mail address and password and click Sign In, and then click Continue. If you have not registered, click the Create Account button and follow the instructions provided.
Viewing your current usage:
Once logged in you should be presented with the Portal home screen.
Click the My Services button in the top menu bar.
You will now be presented with a list of options and tools relevant to your Zen Internet service(s).
Click the View Services Usage Statistics in the General Section.
The Broadband Account Usage section should be displayed by default.
The image above shows how usage is displayed for Zen broadband services with usage allowances. The data can be displayed as two chart types bar chart or pie chart.

You can switch between these two chart types by using the Change Chart Type button, the bar chart is always displayed by default.
If you are nearing your usage limit you have the option of purchasing additional usage by clicking the link: Purchase additional download usage. This will start the Usage purchase wizard. Instructions for this wizard can be found in the related article at the end of this article.
Show Detailed Usage
The Display Detailed Usage button gives a detailed overview of the current months usage as a daily usage graph or a cumulative usage graph.
For Zen broadband services which have no usage allowance the broadband account usage section appears as follows.
Unlimited accounts will not have a pie chart, merely a smaller text area describing the current month's usage.
Historical Usage
To view usage for previous months you should select the month you wish to view from the drop down menu in the Historical Broadband Usage section.
Your average monthly historical usage is displayed to the right of the drop down menu.
This figure is the average amount used from the first month selected in the drop down menu till the last month prior to the current month.
NOTE: Inclusive usage allowance does not carry over from month to month, but additional purchased allowance in your bank will carry over month to month indefinitely until it is used up.
Banked usage will only be used when the inclusive usage for the current month is exhausted.
Inclusive usage resets on the first day of the calendar month.
