Wireless network status:
In the task bar in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen there should be an icon for the D-Link wireless utility.

Double clicking on this will show the Wireless Utility and display the Link Info screen.

This will give various details about the current wireless connection - for example, the name of the network to which you are connected and the signal strength.
Configuring WEP encryption
In order to make a wireless network more secure, data transmitted wirelessly can be encrypted.
NOTE: You will also need to configure your Wireless Access Point/Router to use the same keys in order to communicate when WEP is enabled.
To configure WEP encryption, click Encryption>>> on the left hand side of the Wireless Utility.

Tick the box labelled Data Encryption, this should allow you to make changes to the fields below.
WEP requires a key for encrypting and decrypting data, and the same keys must be shared by all wireless devices that need to use a network.
There are two different ways to configure WEP keys, depending on the compatibility of your Wireless Access Point.
If fully compatible, you can use a Passphrase to generate keys - in this case, enter the same passphrase as entered in your Wireless Access Point. Clicking Done will then generate keys automatically.

You can also enter keys manually. To do this, enter a key into Network Key 1 - you can use characters 1-9 and A-F in your key. You are also able to increase the Key Length from the drop-down menue to improve security.

Once you have done this, click Apply.
As long as your Wireless Access Point/Router is also configured to use the same keys, you should now be able to use the wireless connection.
