Vigor 2600G - Wireless Setup
Aim of this article:
This article is a quick-start guide for setting up the Draytek Vigor 2600 G as a Wireless Access Point.
Configuring the Vigor:
To begin setting up the router, enter the following address in your Web browser:
http://192.168.1.1
A dialogue box will appear asking for a Username and Password. By default, the Username will be admin, and the Password box should be left blank.
Click OK and a screen similar to the one below should appear.

Click Wireless LAN Setup.

Click General Settings.

By default Enable Wireless LAN should be selected, ensure this option is ticked.
For Mode, select the Wireless standards used by the Wireless Clients which will connect to your network.
Under SSID enter the name by which the Wireless LAN should be known.
Under Channel select the frequency you wish the Wireless LAN to operate over. If you have Access Points elsewhere these channels should not overlap.
Click Hide SSID. This will prevent your Wireless LAN appearing in a site survey - so adds a very basic layer of security.
Click OK when you are happy with the settings. You will return to the Wireless LAN Information screen. Select Security Settings.

Select the required Encryption level and enter the Key which will be used for all clients on the Wireless network.
In this example we have selected WEP or WPA/PSK. This will allow devices to use either WEP encryption or WPA/PSK - which may be useful if you have older clients which do not support the WPA/PSK encryption standard.
Once selected, you must enter a valid key under the WPA heading, in the box labelled Pre-Shared Key (PSK). The notes beneath the box explain the criteria for an acceptable key.
You may now set up the WEP encryption, setting the encryption mode as either 64-bit or 128-bit.
Again, the notes beneath the key input box explain the criteria for an acceptable key.
NOTE: We recommend you enable the best possible encryption for your network. If all of your clients are capable of WPA/PSK then select this in the Mode settings drop-down box.
Click OK when you are happy with the settings. You will return to the Wireless LAN Information screen.
Now click Access Control.

Select Enable Access Control.
Enter the MAC address for each client, clicking Add for each one.
Click OK once all of the required MAC addresses are entered.
