OS X Mail 10.3 - Setting up the Default E-mail Address
Aim of this article:
This article provides instructions for configuring OS X Mail 10.3 to send and receive e-mail using an e-mail address you have configured via the Zen Customer Portal.
If you have not yet configured an e-mail address then please first refer to the Related Article.
These instructions can also be applied to legacy e-mail accounts as provided prior to September 2006. Please refer to the notes to view the differences. Repeat the instructions in this guide to add additional mailboxes to Mac Mail.
Configuring OS X Mail 10.3:
Open OS X Mail, by clicking Go -> Applications -> OSX Mail.

Then click Mail on the program menu and click Preferences. This opens the Accounts window at the Account Information tab.

Enter the following information:
Account Type: POP
Description: Enter a description to uniquely identify the account. In this example, Zen e-mail account.
Email Address: Enter your e-mail address, as configured in the Zen portal, e.g. alpha@vectorsigma.myzen.co.uk *1
Full Name: Enter your name, or the name of the person who will be using the e-mail account.
Incoming Mail Server: mailhost.zen.co.uk
User Name: This is case sensitive, and should be the full e-mail address of the account, as you configured when creating the account in the Zen portal, e.g. alpha@vectorsigma.myzen.co.uk *2
Password: This is case sensitive, and will be the password you set when creating the e-mail account in the Zen portal. *3
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mailhost.zen.co.uk
Close the window, and choose to Save the settings.
*1 Note: For accounts created prior to September 2006 you can instead use the default e-mail address, as supplied in your Technical Details e-mail.
*2 Note: For a default e-mail account provided prior to September 2006 the username is as shown in your Technical Details e-mail, with the @zen.co.uk portion e.g. zen12345@zen.co.uk.
*3 Note : For a default e-mail account provided prior to September 2006 the password is shown in your Technical Details e-mail.
