Broadband Voice setup guide

Aim of this article:

This article provides a pictorial representation of how to setup your SpeedTouch VoIP router from the BT Master socket.  It also illustrates how additional telephone sockets should be used without disrupting the broadband service.

Broadband Voice setup from the BT master telephone socket:

For optimum performance from your Broadband line connect your SpeedTouch 780WL VoIP router from the BT master socket as illustrated in the image above.

You can connect two telephones to the SpeedTouch router (as illustrated). However, the router must be configured to use the Zen Voice system before attempting to make any VoIP calls.  Instructions on how to configure the SpeedTouch 780WL router can be found in the Related Article.

NOTE: Only telephones connected to the SpeedTouch 780WL router are capable of making calls over the Zen Broadband Voice system.  Telephones connected to other sockets in your premises are connected to your telephone line provider and not the Zen Broadband Voice system.  Any calls made will appear on the bill from your telephone line provider and will be charged at the rate specified by them.

Using additional telephone sockets:

You will need to connect an ADSL filter to any additional telephone sockets that you may be using with other telephones, fax machines or digital/satellite set top boxes.

NOTE: Telephones connected to other sockets in your premises are connected to your telephone line provider and not Zen Broadband Voice.  Any calls made will appear on the bill from your telephone line provider and will be charged at the rate specified by them.
